Jet Ski vs. Snow Mobile? And...a birthday!!!!
OK - I've given this some thought and I think at this point...a jet ski would not be as practical as the snow mobile. The water is particularly cold in Lake Michigan and in it's surrounding bays for a good part of the summer...probably only about one month out of the year where it would be comfortable without a wet suit. Wet suits are a pain to put on too...
Now the snow mobile...with our business dreams in Suttons Bay...that sounds a bit more practical. The snow mobile would be the primary means of transportation for delivering the product. I won't go into a whole lot of detail on this site...as it is public...and have someone else steal our business idea!!
As an aside - Rachel, Dave, Sarah, Josh, and Mom and Dad had a wonderful dinner at Daveed's last night in Mount Adam's! It was a celebration of Mom's birthday!
Dave had: Duck - waitress had asked 'How would you like that done?' Puzzled...because none of us have ever heard poultry being done anything else being well done...right? Nonetheless, he enjoyed the dish and offered bites to the courageous.
Rachel had: Petite Mesclun & Belgium Endive Salad w/orange, Danish blue cheese & candied walnuts & fennel pollen Banylus vinaigrette, Some fancy, vegetarian 'Mac & Cheese'...and oh buddy...it was good.
Sarah had: Mixed Greens & French Lentils w/pancetta & bread croutons, whole grain mustard vinaigrette & shaved grana padana (Sarah has a craving for bacon once in awhile), Halibut w/ fresh vegetables and other good stuff
Birthday Girl had: Petite Mesclun & Belgium Endive Salad w/orange, candied walnuts & fennel pollen Banylus vinaigrette, Some fancy, vegetarian 'Mac & Cheese'
Dad had: Pan Seared Maine Day Boat Sea Scallops w/caramelized cauliflower puree & madras curry raisin viniagrette (three huge, plump pieces!), the salad...I don't recall..., the flank steak w/ mashed potatoes and other good stuff...I had a bite...it was good!
Josh had: Pan Seared Maine Day Boat Sea Scallops w/caramelized cauliflower puree & madras curry raisin viniagrette, Baby Arugula Salad w/eggplant & olive tapenade & goat cheese, Moroccan Spiced Atlantic Salmon w/Bouillabaisse broth, rock shrimp, confit of fennel, onion & orzo pasta
For dessert: Everyone shared (I'll butcher the spelling...) Patisserie (assortment of little cakes w/ topping, fresh fruit in syrup, and other tasty treats, creme brulee, and an collection of homemade chocolates (Dave and I joked that they just took them out of an old Valentine's Day box...hehe....)
All in all...it was a great celebration!! Happy Birthday Nancy - Mom - even though it is cut one hour short!!!!
